There are three methods to delete a link between a variant and a document:
By importing a variants file without links to a document:
Leave the document_code column empty
During the import, select Replace in the Empty cell action dropdown list.
Advice: A variants file can be found via a profile created by an administrator or via a one-time variants export from the Document or the export platform.
By manually disassociating a variant from its document (in the interface):
Open the Variants tab of the document and in the Actions column, click on ... for a variant and select Detach.

Disassociated variants can be associated to other documents via the Data > Orphans > Variant(s) menu or from the Variants tab of a document, or via the search option below the variants table:
