To add products or assets to a broadcast channel, go to the ‘Data > Content > Channels’ section and double-click (or click on the pencil icon on the far right of the relevant channel) on the channel you are interested in.
Once you are in the channel, use the navigation arrows to navigate through the channel tree until you reach the classification where you wish to add content.
From here, there are two ways to proceed: either by manually selecting content, or by dynamically selecting content.
When you change the selection mode from Manual to Dynamic, or vice versa, the previously selected content will be reset. This reset is irreversible.
Set the content in Manual mode.
Manual selection mode allows you to select content individually, choosing items one by one. It works in the same way for both products and assets channels.
Once you are in the correct classification, make sure that the ‘Enable dynamic selection’ slider is indeed turned off, and then click on ‘Add products / asset’.
In the window that opens, enter the first 3 characters of the Product/Asset name or code. In the list that appears, tick the checkboxes to select the Products/Asset you wish to add. Once you have finished selecting them, click ‘Done’.
The selected products are displayed in your manual selection, and you can manage them as you wish (delete the selection, manage it, add or remove products or asset).
Set the content in Dynamic mode.
Dynamic selection mode allows you to select content based on the results of an advanced search. It works in the same way for both product and asset channels.
Once you are in the correct classification, click the ‘Enable dynamic selection’ button, then click ‘New dynamic selection’.
In the window that appears, select the Product Type, add one or more filters if necessary, and click ‘Next’.
Enter the name of your new dynamic selection in the Name field and then click on ‘Create a dynamic selection’.
NB : A dynamic selection created from a classification is a selection of products or assets used only in the classification in which it was created. By default, this type of selection is not present in the list of saved dynamic selections.
A dynamic selection can be saved and become a saved dynamic selection, by activating the This dynamic selection can be re-used toggle button during creation:
Your dynamic selection has been created; you can edit it using the ‘More options’ button.
Within a single classification, dynamic selections can only use one data language across all search filters.
To distribute data filtered on different locales, create separate classifications - one per locale.
