To add a classification to a broadcast channel, go to "Data > Content > Channels" and click on the channel you're interested in.

Click on the small arrow, on the root classification, to start moving through the channel tree.

Go to the classification you're interested in, then click on the "plus" icon at the top right of the tree.

A window opens. Enter the Name, Code and Selection type of your channel content, then click on the Apply button.

Your new classification is created. You can assign content to it or create other child classifications.
