How can I create an import profile?

Written by Lucien Berkani

Do you frequently perform the same import and you'd like to create an import profile?

Keep reading and we'll explain how to do it!

  • From the Data flow menu, open the Profiles page.

  • Click on the New profile button.

  • Complete the informations:

    • Name.

    • Description.

    • Object type.

    • Product type.

    • Languages.

    • Empty cell action: You can Ignore empty cells or Replace the existing value with empty cells from the import file.

Once the profile has been saved, the options for Languages, Object Type, Product Type and File Format can no longer be changed.

  • Next, select the Format of the import files:

    • standard or custom CSV:

    • XLSX (if the file is less than 10Mo)

  • If the file to be imported does not contain all the attributes, or if the column headings differ from the PIM attribute codes, you will need to use Mapping. You can:

    • Drag and drop attributes in the desired order of appearance:

    • Modify columns names (if necessary).

When mapping is enabled, only the mapped columns are taken into account and imported.

  • Finally, click the Create button. The profile is immediately added to the list on the Profiles page.

  • From the Profiles page, you'll be able to modify the profile, download an import template, or launch an import.
