You've found several assets with the same name in the Quable DAM and you'd like to understand why and how to avoid this?
Let's take a closer look:
An asset's uniqueness is carried by its code (not by its name). This is why duplicate names can exist. To avoid this, you can overwrite files with the same name when importing an asset file.
If an asset is imported from Data > Assets, the dialog below will appear after the upload:
Keep existing files and import files keeping their names - If the file to be imported has an identical name to a file already present in the DAM, you'll see a duplicate.
Overwrite existing files in current or other classification - There will be no duplicates, but you'll delete the already existing files with the same name.
If an asset is imported from the Assets tab of a Document, the proposal will appear on the dialog below:
Overwrite files with the same name - If the file to be imported has an identical name to a file already present in the DAM, you'll see a duplicate.
Overwrite files with the same name - There will be no duplicates, but you'll delete the already existing files with the same name.
Advice: Do not hesitate to implement a naming convention within your organization.
This will prevent generating duplicates or deleting imported files that you may need.
By the way, Quable PIM enables automatically linking assets to your documents (ex: products, brands accessories sheets, etc.).
