Dynamic searches enable to update channels automatically. They are very useful for portal implementation, and their creation can be optimized.

We'll work on this 3 levels classification tree:
Brands
Product categories
Colors
Dynamic searches can be combined, so you have several possibilities:
Create a dynamic search for each criteria and combine them:
Create a dynamic search with the criteria Brand X
Create a dynamic search with the criteria Pants
Create a dynamic search with the criteria Red
Create a dynamic search with the criteria Blue
Create a dynamic search with the criteria Black
Add dynamic searches in Content tab of the classification node
It will enable to reuse searches on brand and color criteria for other product categories.
Create a dynamic search per classification node:
Create a dynamic search with the criteria Brand X, Pants category and Red color
Create a dynamic search with the criteria Brand X, Pants category and Blue color
Create a dynamic search with the criteria Brand X, Pants category and Black color
Add dynamic searches in Content tab of the classification node
It will unable to reuse created dynamic searches, but it's totally appropriate if criteria are different from a node to another or if there are few levels.
Depending on the classification tree complexity, both options are favorable.
