If you have one or more assets in your DAM that you wish to link to one or more products, here’s how to do it.
In our example, we have 3 assets (A, B and C) that we want to link to the products with the codes CH1NK1 (to be linked to asset A), CH1NK10 (to be linked to asset B) and CH1NK11 (to be linked to asset C).
1 - Prepare your import file.
Your file will have 2 columns: ‘source_code’, which will represent the product code(s) to be linked to your asset, and ‘target_code’, which will represent the asset code(s) to be linked to your product(s).
Once your file is complete, save it, you’ll need it for the next step.
2 - Start your link import.
Go to Data Flows > Start an import > Import without profile. Configure your import, ensuring that ‘Links’ is selected as the Object type, choose your file format, drag and drop your file into the designated area, and click ‘Import data’.
You will be automatically redirected to the Activity reports, where you can track the status of your import.
Once the import has been successfully completed, you will see the imported assets appear in the corresponding links on your product pages, for example: asset A linked to product CH1NK1.
NB: If you wish to link several assets to the same product, you can do so directly from the advanced search page.
